The spiderwick is so so so so so good it is packed full of adventure, mystery and magic! Meeting the aunt was a bit interesting, but it would have been more interesting to hear some more from her.

In the end, the children go into the woods to meet with elves to see if they can recover their long lost Uncle. This series is great for children who are avid readers of the fantasy genre and familiar with all manner of mystical creatures.

Preview — El mapa perdido by Tony DiTerlizzi. This one included some more depth and history of the protagonists’ family, but it felt stale to me, and definitely posed for dramatic purposes. They went to the woods and found three elves who tried to capture Simon, but Simon and Jared switched names and got away.
